Things to do in Mylapore
7 events in mylapore across Chennai — mostly business (3), wellness (1), theatre (1), comedy (1). 1 is free.
Mylapore is one of Chennai's oldest neighbourhoods and the centre of its classical arts calendar. Life here turns around the Kapaleeshwarar Temple, its tank and the four Mada streets, where golu-doll sellers set up before Navaratri and the temple's Panguni festival fills the roads each March–April. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on East Mada Street, the Mylapore Fine Arts Club and Rasika Ranjani Sabha host Carnatic concerts and Tamil plays through the year and daily during the December season, and Nageswara Rao Park holds open-air concerts. San Thome Basilica stands at the seaward end. Thirumayilai MRTS station is a short walk from the temple.
