Things to do in Anna Salai (Mount Road)

2 events in anna salai (mount road) across Chennai โ€” mostly workshop (1), food (1). 1 is free.

Anna Salai, still called Mount Road, is Chennai's central spine, and its northern half between Government Estate and Thousand Lights carries several small but regular venues. Rani Seethai Hall is a long-running auditorium for Tamil plays, music programmes and association meetings. The Lalit Kala Akademi's regional centre on Greams Road shows painting, sculpture and photography exhibitions, usually with free entry, and hosts artist camps. Spencer Plaza, the LIC Building and old bookshops are landmarks along the way. The Blue Line runs under the road with stations at Government Estate, LIC and Thousand Lights, so most addresses are within a ten-minute walk of a train.
