Things to do in Chepauk & Triplicane

2 events in chepauk & triplicane across Chennai โ€” mostly sports (2).

Chepauk means cricket. The M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, established in 1916 and now seating about 38,000, is home to Chennai Super Kings and hosts Tests, one-dayers and the Tamil Nadu Premier League; it staged seven matches of the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup. Next door on Wallajah Road, Kalaivanar Arangam, rebuilt and reopened in 2016, is the state government's main hall for award functions, conventions and cultural shows. Triplicane, to the south, is an old temple quarter built around the Parthasarathy Temple, which draws very large crowds on Vaikunta Ekadasi. Chepauk MRTS station sits beside the stadium and Government Estate metro is about a kilometre away.
