Stand-up Comedy Shows in Chennai

Chennai's stand-up circuit works in two languages, Tamil and English, and often both in the same set, so the first thing to check on any ticket is the language. Touring specials and big names play the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall in Chetpet, the Music Academy, Kamarajar Arangam and Vani Mahal. The week-to-week scene lives in small rooms: Medai – The Stage in Alwarpet for stand-up and improv, studio spaces in Kodambakkam such as Trinity Studio, where October 2026 line-ups are listed at ₹399, and Kreate by Kraft's recurring roast battle from ₹199. Open mics move between cafés in Mylapore, Anna Nagar, Adyar and Porur. Most shows are rated 16+ or 18+ and ban recording. This page collects stand-up, improv, sketch and comedy open mics across Chennai, updated daily.
