Things to do in Anna Nagar

Anna Nagar is the planned residential district of north-west Chennai, developed after the 1968 World Trade Fair held here, and it has its own going-out circuit. VR Chennai on Jawaharlal Nehru Road, opened in June 2018, is built around open courtyards with an amphitheatre, a ten-screen PVR and a Sunday farmers' market, and hosts pop-up markets, live music and festival events. Anna Nagar Tower Park, Second Avenue's restaurants and the cafés of Shanthi Colony fill the evenings. Ampa Skyone in nearby Aminjikarai adds another mall. The Green Line runs through the area with stations at Shenoy Nagar, Anna Nagar East, Anna Nagar Tower and Thirumangalam.
