Things to do in Nandambakkam

Nandambakkam, on Mount–Poonamallee Road about 1.5 km from Kathipara Junction, exists on the events map because of the Chennai Trade Centre. The exhibition complex, commissioned in 2001 with a convention centre added in 2004, is a joint venture of the India Trade Promotion Organisation and the Tamil Nadu government's trade-promotion arm. Its pillarless air-conditioned halls host the India International Leather Fair, property and automobile shows, education fairs, jewellery exhibitions and Chennai Comic Con, which ran here on 14–15 February 2026. The airport is about 6 km away. There is no station at the gate; most visitors take a cab or auto from Alandur metro or St. Thomas Mount.
