About Kamarajar Arangam
Kamarajar Arangam is a large air-conditioned auditorium on Anna Salai in Teynampet, named after the former chief minister K. Kamaraj. It is one of the biggest proscenium halls in central Chennai and among the easiest to reach, with AG-DMS metro station a few minutes' walk from the gate. Its best-known annual booking is Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru, the week-long Carnatic music festival held here each December during the music season. For the rest of the year it takes Tamil film-music and light-music concerts, Tamil stand-up specials, award functions, political and trade conventions and school and college annual days. Seat counts quoted by organisers and review sites vary widely, so rely on the seating map on your ticket rather than a single capacity figure.
