Tech Meetups, Hackathons & Conferences in Chennai

Chennai's tech events follow its IT corridor. Old Mahabalipuram Road, from Tidel Park in Taramani through Perungudi, Thoraipakkam, Sholinganallur and Siruseri, holds most of the city's software offices, and developer meetups, cloud and AI study groups and company-hosted hackathons take place in their auditoria on weekday evenings and Saturdays. The IIT Madras Research Park in Taramani hosts deep-tech and startup events, and IIT Madras itself runs Shaastra, its student technical festival, each January; Anna University's engineering colleges in Guindy hold their own tech fests. Chennai is also a centre of India's software-as-a-service industry, which brings product and founder conferences to city hotels. Most community meetups are free with registration.
