About Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall

The Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, often shortened to Sir Mutha Hall or Lady Andal auditorium, is the hall most touring productions choose in Chennai. It stands on the Lady Andal school campus at Shenstone Park, off Harrington Road in Chetpet, and is run by the Madras Seva Sadan, the trust behind the school. Commissioned in February 2008, it seats close to 1,200 across stalls and a balcony and has a separate black-box studio for about 200. The calendar is dominated by national stand-up tours, English-language theatre, musicals, Western classical and tribute concerts and school productions. The Hindu's Lit for Life festival was held on the same campus on 17–18 January 2026.
