About Sri Krishna Gana Sabha
Sri Krishna Gana Sabha is one of the prominent sabhas of the Chennai music season and T. Nagar's main address for classical dance. It has its own premises on Maharajapuram Santhanam Salai, the former Griffith Road, renamed after the Carnatic vocalist, with a main auditorium and a smaller hall. The sabha is known for its Gokulashtami music series, its Pongal-time festivals and above all the Natya Kala Conference, an annual dance conference of lecture-demonstrations, talks and performances held each December during the season. Through the year it presents Carnatic concerts, Bharatanatyam and other dance recitals, harikatha and Tamil drama, and rents its halls for arangetrams and cultural programmes by other organisers.
