About Express Avenue
Express Avenue, EA to regulars, is the mall closest to the centre of Chennai, on Whites Road in Royapettah near the old clock tower. It opened in 2010 on part of the Express Estate, with around 210 stores and about nine lakh sq ft of leasable space, and is bounded by Whites Road, Woods Road and Patullos Road. The building has six tall atria under fabric-and-glass roofs, which are used for seasonal installations, a Christmas village, children's carnivals, fashion events and brand promotions. PVR Escape has eight screens and about 1,600 seats, and there is a large food court and a children's play zone. Three basement levels provide parking for somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 cars.
